About Rebel RDH

Learn Boldly.
Lead Confidently.

Rebel RDH was created for dental hygiene students who believe there can be a better way to learn.

Dental hygiene school is challenging. There is an enormous amount of information to learn, clinical skills to master, competencies to complete, and eventually — a national board examination to pass.

Sometimes it can feel like you’re expected to memorize everything before you’ve had enough time to truly understand it.

That’s where Rebel RDH comes in.

Why the Name “Rebel”?

The word Rebel was chosen intentionally.

Being a Rebel RDH doesn’t mean ignoring standards or challenging everything you’ve been taught. It means being willing to learn differently. It means asking:

Why does this work?
How does this information connect to my patient?
Is there an easier way to understand this?
How do I take what I’ve learned in the classroom and actually use it in clinic?

A Rebel RDH doesn’t simply memorize an answer.

A Rebel RDH wants to understand the why behind it.

Stop Memorizing. Start Understanding.

You’ve probably had this experience.

You study something for hours.

You memorize it.

You take the exam.

And two weeks later…

it’s gone.

Rebel RDH takes a different approach. We break complicated dental hygiene concepts into clear, manageable lessons and connect them to clinical situations so the information actually makes sense.

Because when you understand why, remembering what becomes much easier.

Whether you’re learning Gracey curettes, periodontal staging, radiographic interpretation, pharmacology, medical conditions, or clinical decision-making, our goal is simple. We want you to finish a Rebel RDH lesson thinking:

“Finally. That makes sense.”

Learn to Think Like a Clinician

Dental hygiene isn’t just about knowing facts. It’s about knowing what to do with them.

Every patient brings together medical history, medications, radiographs, periodontal findings, dental conditions, risk factors, and individual needs. Becoming a confident hygienist means learning how to put all of those pieces together.

That’s why Rebel RDH emphasizes clinical reasoning and case-based learning. Instead of asking only:

Memorizing
“Do you know the answer?”
Reasoning
“Why is that the answer?”

That’s the difference between studying for an exam and preparing to become a clinician.

Preparing for the NBDHE

The National Board Dental Hygiene Examination requires more than memorization. You need to interpret patient information, recognize important findings, connect concepts, and make sound decisions.

Rebel RDH Board Prep focuses on developing those skills through case-based learning and clinical reasoning.

You’ll practice working through patient cases, analyzing information, and applying what you’ve learned — so you’re not simply preparing to answer questions. You’re preparing to think through them.

Learning That Fits Into Your Life

Sometimes you don’t need another hour-long lecture. You need someone to explain one confusing concept clearly.

That’s why you’ll also find Rebel in 10 Minutes — short, focused lessons designed to make challenging dental hygiene concepts easier to understand.

10Minutes
One topic. One goal: make it make sense.

Evidence First

Learning differently doesn’t mean lowering standards. Dental hygiene is a healthcare profession, and accuracy matters.

Rebel RDH is committed to education grounded in sound clinical principles, reliable evidence, professional standards, and patient-centered care.

Technology and artificial intelligence may help us learn in new ways, but they should never replace critical thinking, qualified instruction, reliable evidence, or professional judgment.

What Makes You a Rebel RDH?

You don’t have to know everything. You don’t have to be the fastest student in clinic. And you certainly don’t have to understand everything the first time you learn it.

Being a Rebel RDH means you’re willing to keep asking questions. You’re willing to practice. You’re willing to learn from mistakes. You’re willing to understand instead of simply memorize.

And you’re determined to become the kind of dental hygienist your future patients can trust.

That’s our kind of Rebel.
